Jerome Robbins was born on Oct. 11, 1918 in New York City. He studied an array of dance. In 1940, he joined the Ballet Theatre. Four years later he choreographed his first musical. It later became a Broadway show. He joined the New York City Ballet in 194© 2013 A+E Networks. All rights reserved.
