James Longstreet was the principle general of the Confederate Army during the American Civil War, serving under Robert E. Lee. Some say he was the best commander in that conflict, of either side. He fought in some of the most famous battles, namely the First Bull Run, the Second Bull Run, the Battle of Fredericksburg, and Battle of Gettysburg. After the war, he settled in New Orleans.
