James J. Braddock the American world heavyweight boxing champion from 1935 until 1937. After Braddock lost to champion Tommy Loughran in 1929, his career zoomed to rock-bottom and he returned to work on the docks during the Great Depression. In 1934, he returned to the ring, quickly rising to fame, earning the nickname "The Cinderella Man." In total, he had 86 bouts and 51 wins (26 by knockout).
