Hoagy Carmichael was a U.S. songwriter who wrote "Rockin' Chair", "Lazy River," and "Stardust," reportedly the most recorded popular song of all time. He also gave us "George (Georgia on my Mind)", and "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening," which won an Academy Award in 1951. He also appeared in several films and wrote two memoirs, The Stardust Road and Sometimes I Wonder.
