In 1994 Anna Paquin won rave reviews and an Academy Award for her supporting role in The Piano. Originally from New Zealand but born in Canada, Paquin finished up her schooling in Los Angeles while taking small parts in both independent and Hollywood films like Amistad and Hurly Burly.
