On November 7, 2011, Dr. Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. Murray gave the singer lethal amounts of drugs in the days before his June 2009 death.
Mel Gibson was arrested for driving under the influence after being pulled over in Malibu in July 2006 with a blood alcohol content of 0.12. Accusations of Gibson spewing racial and sexist remarks at the authorities circulated in the press. The 50 year-old actor apologized for his 'belligerent' behavior, expressed regret and reportedly seeked rehab treatment.

British actor Hugh Grant was arrested on June 27, 1995 when police found him in a car with a prostitute and charged him with lewd behavior. He pleaded no contest in court and was fined $1,180, put on probation for two years, and ordered to get AIDS education.

Actor Nick Nolte was arrested in Malibu in September 2002 after being pulled over for erratic driving. The 61-year-old actor pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and using drugs. He was ordered to undergo a 90-day substance abuse program, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, and pay a $600 fine.

Naomi Campbell was arrested on March 30, 2006 in New York and pleaded guilty to assault in the third degree for hitting her 41 year-old housekeeper in the head with a phone. The supermodel was sentenced to five days of community service, two days of anger management, and ordered to pay $363.32 in restitution to her former housekeeper.

When Russell Crowe couldn't place a call to Australia from the Mercer Hotel he got so upset that he threw a phone, which struck a hotel employee in the face. The Gladiator star was arrested on June 6, 2005, and avoided jail time by pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault and reaching an agreement with prosecutors.

The 68 year-old television star of the late 70's hit show Baretta, was arrested in April 2002 and charged in the 2001 fatal shooting of his wife Bonny Lee Bakley. After a lengthy trial Blake was found not guilty, but was sued by Bakley's four children and ordered to pay $30 million in a wrongful death suit.

James Brown was arrested in January 2004 on domestic violence charges for allegedly pushing his partner Tomi Rae Wynie. The godfather of soul first got in trouble with the law when he was convicted of burglarizing cars and armed robbery.

Police found McConaughey in his home dancing naked and playing the bongo drums. The drug charges were later dropped and Mcconauhey was charged with a misdemeanor of resisting transportation.
