In May 2005, Hell's Kitchen USA, which placed aspiring restaurateurs under the intense eye of the show's host, was launched on Fox. Like their British counterparts, American audiences learned to love and hate the abrasive chef as he narrowed the field of participants down to one final winner. Ratings soared, opening the door for an adaptation of his other British program,

Kitchen Nightmares. The series debuted on Fox in September 2007.

Ramsay's success in the U.S. soon led the chef to open his first American restaurant, Gordon Ramsay at The London, in New York. Today, Gordon Ramsay Holdings is a multinational corporation with restaurants around the globe.

Ramsay resides in South London with his wife, Tana, and their four children.
