King, Prince(1762–1830)
George IV ruled as king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Ireland and Hanover from 1820 to 1830. He succeeded his insane father, George III.

Synopsis

King George IV was born George Augustus Frederick on August 12, 1762, in London, England. He married his cousin Caroline in order to induce Parliament to pay his debts. They separated in 1817. In 1810, George III became permanently insane. George IV took the throne in 1820, ruling the United Kingdom of Great Britain, Ireland and Hanover until his death in 1830.
