Born on June, 21, 1935, in Carjac, France, author Françoise Sagan studied at the Sorbonne. In 1954, she published Bonjour Tristesse, her most famous work, at the young age of 19. The novel A Certain Smile followed the international bestseller. The characters in her novels and plays were often people caught in tangled relationships. She died in 2004.© 2013 A+E Networks.
