Seaman Fletcher Christian led the mutiny of 25 officers and seamen seizing control of the HMS Bounty in 1789. He, along with crew members and people from Tahiti, set sail to establish life on an island. Christian was never heard from again, but a lone survivor, John Adams, said the small crew settled on Pitcairn Island and burned the Bounty.
