Federico Fellini was born January 20, 1920, in Rimini, Italy. In 1944 he met director Roberto Rossellini and joined a team of writers who created Rome, Open City, often cited as the seminal film of the Italian Neorealist movement. Fellini made his directorial debut with Variety Lights, 1951. His major works including La Dolce Vita and 8 1/2. He received 8 Oscars during his lifetime.
