Profile
After fighting in the French and Indian War, Ethan Allen settled in Vermont. At the outbreak of the American Revolution, he raised his force of Green Mountain Boys and Connecticut troops and helped capture the British fort at Ticonderoga. Later, he tried to take Montreal and was captured by the British. Congress gave him the rank of colonel, but he did not serve in the war after his release.© 2013 A+E Networks. All rights reserved.
