Ernesto Zedillo was president of Mexico 1994–2000. He made a major effort to restore public confidence damaged by the scandals of the Salinas administration.

Synopsis

In 1993 Ernesto Zedillo became campaign manager for PRI presidential candidate Luis Donaldo Colosio, and when Colosio was assassinated, Zedillo was named the party's candidate. As president he continued the economic policies of his predecessor, Carlos Salinas de Gortari, but devoted a major effort to restoring public confidence damaged by the scandals of the Salinas administration.
