Wood has continued his big-screen work with a filmography that includes Bobby (2006), Paris Je T'Aime (2007) and animated releases 9 (2009), Happy Feet (2006) and its sequel Happy Feet Two (2011). He has also been featured on the small-screen, starring in a 2011 U.K. adaptation of Treasure Island and in the surreal FX series Wilfred,
about the emotionally beleaguered Ryan and his friendship with a dog-suited ruffian. Adding another dimension to his oeuvre, Wood has also done voiceover work for the online sci-fi series Red vs. Blue.
Wood happily returned to the world of Middle Earth in Peter Jackson's 2012 adaptation The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first installment of a trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. He was also cast to star in the thrillers Maniac (2012) and Grand Piano (slated for 2013).
