Earl Hines was touring with Carroll Dickerson's orchestra when trumpeter Louis Armstrong took over the group in 1927. Hines and Armstrong performed together as part of the Hot Five quintet and the All Stars, recording songs like "Weather Bird," "Muggles," and "West End Blues."
