Actor Daryl Sabara was born in Torrance, California, on June 14, 1992. Sabara began acting at a young age, starring in the family film franchise Spy Kids and appearing on numerous hit television shows. His career includes roles in action films such as John Carter, as well as voice work in the animated series Father of the Pride and Generator Rex.
Daryl Christopher Sabara was born in Torrance, California, on June 14, 1992. Sabara and his twin brother, Evan, were raised by their mother, who worked as a social worker in Los Angeles. Both brothers would eventually become actors. Daryl Sabara, however, began his performance career as a ballet dancer, becoming a member of the regional company South Bay Ballet as a child.
Sabara began acting as a child, appearing on episodes of Murphy Brown, Roswell and Will and Grace during the 1990s. In 2001, he was cast in the role of Juni Cortez in the movie Spy Kids. The film was extremely successful, ultimately expanding into a profitable franchise.
Sabara's success as a film, television and voice performer has continued steadily since his professional breakthrough in 2001. His television credits include roles on Friends, Wizards of Waverly Place and Easy to Assemble. He also had a recurring role on the Showtime series Weeds, which ran between 2005 and 2012, playing the character Tim Scottson. In 2003, Sabara served as a celebrity judge on the reality talent-competition show America's Most Talented Kids.
In addition to his usual acting work, Sabara has had an established career voicing animated characters. He voiced Hunter the lion cub on the NBC show Father of the Pride and Rex on the Cartoon Network series Generator Rex, which was broadcast from 2010 to 2013. He also voiced the character Hero Boy in the 2004 animated version of Chris Van Allburg's classic children's book, The Polar Express, and contributed voice work to the film Finding Nemo.
Sabara's film career has continued beyond the success of Spy Kids. He played bully Wesley Rhoades in Rob Zombie's 2007 film, Halloween, and Julio in the 2010 action film Machete. In the latter film, he performed opposite film veterans Robert De Niro and Danny Trejo.
Sabara also co-starred in the 2012 action film John Carter. Other film credits include April Showers, a film written and directed by a survivor of the 1999 Columbine High School shooting, and the Robin Williams comedy World's Greatest Dad (2009). In 2013, the actor filmed two movies: The Green Inferno and The Philosophers, in which he plays a college student.
