Singer Charles Brown was born on September 13, 1922, in Texas City, Texas. In 1946, his band John Moore’s Three Blazers released “Driftin’ Blues.” He left the group in 1948 to start his own trio and recorded with Aladdin records through 1952. In the 1960s, his career slowed. He made a comeback in the 1980s. He died January 21, 1999, in Oakland, California and later made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
