Catharine Alice MacKinnon was born on October 7, 1946, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1977, she graduated with her J.D. from Yale Law School. In 1986, the Supreme Court agreed with her argument that sexual harassment is sex discrimination. She taught at law schools and focused her work on international women’s rights. She published a book, Are Women Human?: and Other International Dialogues in 2000.
