Some political analysts have suggested that Jindal could be among the vice-presidential running mate candidates being considered by 2012 presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. He has insisted that he is not considering the vice-presidential role, explaining that his governorship position is the job that he wants. "I think it's presumptuous to speculate on all of this," he said in 2012. "The reality is he will select whoever he thinks will do the best job, if called upon, to step into the job as president."
