Allen Iverson was born on June 7, 1975 in Hampton, Virginia. He was chosen first in the 1996 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Though one of the smallest players in the league, Iverson led his team in scoring average and won Rookie of the Year. He returned for a second stint with the 76ers in 2009 but left the team to spend time with his ailing daughter.
