For political pundits and enthusiasts who've been closely watching the campaign trail, the months-long wait is over: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has chosen his VP pick, and it comes in the form of Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan. "Mitt's choice for VP is Paul Ryan," alerted a Romney campaign smart-phone application. "Spread the word about America's comeback team." Romney announced Ryan as his VP running mate Saturday morning in front of the battleship USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, Virginia. As chair of the U.S. House of Representatives Budget Committee, Ryan, 42, became a favorite of the Tea Party when he proposed a controversial budget plan that took an anti-tax, limited government stance. His plan was attacked by critics who brought to light his proposal to cut government health programs (i.e. Medicare) for the elderly and the poor. Unlike Romney, whose background originates from the private sector, Ryan is a Washington insider with no business experience. Considering Romney is bringing along his new VP pick to campaign with him in Florida, the duo's reception, especially among the elderly, will be their first lithmus test to see if Romney's choice of Ryan has lasting potential. What do you think of Romney's VP choice?
