It happened this week in 1976…the catchy theme song from the TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter hit #1 on the music charts. “Welcome Back” was written and performed by former Lovin' Spoonful frontman John Sebastian, and was his only Top 40 solo hit. Take a listen. . .

Ahhhhh, the feathered hair and bell bottoms. . .The TV show, which ran from 1975 to 1979, followed Mr. Kotter (Gabe Kaplan), a do-good teacher who returns to his inner-city Brooklyn high school to head a class of misfit kids, the Sweathogs.

The show was so popular it had its own comic book, action figures, board game, lunch boxes and, of course, some of our favorite TV catchphrases.

"Ooooooh, oooooh, oooooh, ooooh!" Remember any of them?
