If Leonardo da Vinci walked into an airport today, what would he see? A man of endless curiosity and diverse passions that ranged from engineering and anatomy to art and philosophy, what would he make of the evolutions these areas have undergone in the centuries since his death? Of drones and airline peanuts and Twitter?
"Sometimes when I read some of his words it would feel almost like he was overdosing on the world. Do you know what I mean?” asks actor Peter Capaldi, who plays da Vinci in the new film Inside the Mind of Leonardo 3D, which is due to hit select theaters tomorrow. “There’s almost this sort of madness, a frenzy about him. . .to not be able to look at anything without beginning to break it down into salient parts, even not to be able to look past a cup without beginning to try to understand how it works...If not how it works mechanically, how it works in terms of color and shadow and gloss.”
