On January 30, 1969, The Beatles played their final show together. But instead of the usual packed stadiums and concert venues, they chose to perform impromptu on top of the Apple Records headquarters rooftop. While the police eventually shut everything down due to masses of people gathering in the streets, The Beatles managed to perform many songs from their album Let It Be. As the show ended, John Lennon famously said “I’d like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we passed the audition.”
