Robin Williams is an award-winning actor and comedian. Élie Metchnikoff was a Russian zoologist and microbiologist who received a Nobel Prize for his discoveries. Robin Williams played the role of Jack Powell in the 1996 film Jack. Jack Powell suffers from an unusual aging disorder that ages him four decades faster than normal, appearing to be 40 at only 10 years of age. Robin’s character could have benefited from some of Élie Metchnikoff’s theories that suggest toxic bacteria in the gut caused aging. Metchnikoff believed that lactic acid could prolong one’s life and drank sour milk every day hoping to live longer.

10 Years of Marriage
Metchnikoff married his first wife, Ludmila Feodorovitch, in 1863. They were married for 10 years before she passed away in 1873. Robin Williams married his first wife, Valerie Velardi, in 1978. They divorced 10 years later in 1988.
