It started with Rupert Murdoch. Then it moved to his son James, and spread to Rebekah Brooks. Now the phone tapping scandal has expanded, this time to include television personality Piers Morgan. A 2009 BBC interview of Morgan surfaced Wednesday, in which he discusses practices of phone tapping during his time as editor of News of the World and the Daily Mirror. "A lot of it was done by third parties, rather than the staff themselves...that's not to defend it, because obviously you were running the results of their work," Morgan said. Morgan has since defended his statement. "I have never hacked a phone, told anyone to hack a phone, nor to my knowledge published any story obtained from the hacking of a phone."
