Morgan Freeman Drops $1 Million for Obama, Chick-fil-A Chief Is Anti-Gay Marriage
Biography.com's "Week in Review" highlights interesting people who've made the news this past week—thanks to their endeavors, big ideas, triumphs, importance in history, or magnanimous gaffes. While there were many people to choose from this week, here are our top picks that made us either raise an eyebrow, roll our eyes, shed a tear, or just gave us a good chuckle.
Morgan Freeman's New Million Dollar Baby: The Obama Campaign
Morgan Freeman made it fiscally clear where his political leanings are: The Oscar-winning actor dropped down a cool million for President Obama's super PAC, which has reportedly raised $20.4 million thus far for his re-election, compared to Mitt Romney's super PAC, which has raised $81.5 million.
"President Obama has done a remarkable job in terrible circumstances," the Dark Night Rises actor, 75, said in a statement via the Los Angeles Times. "He has ended combat operations in Iraq, put in place sensible reforms of Wall Street, saved the auto industry and protected the healthcare of every American with a preexisting condition. He has recognized the full equality of all our brothers and sisters and placed impressive, accomplished women on the Supreme Court. In return for this he is being targeted by hundreds of millions of dollars in special-interest money. I for one am proud to lend my voice—and support—to those who defend him."
Freeman joins the ranks of other Hollywood personalities like Bill Maher, Steven Spielberg, Chelsea Handler, and DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg who've all donated major funds to the Obama campaign.

Clucking the Wrong Message? Chick-fil-A Owner Proudly Admits His Company Is Anti-Gay Marriage
For those of you familiar with the fast food franchise Chick-fil-A, the first things that usually come to mind are: juicy chicken nuggets with an array of special dipping sauces, shiny golden waffle fries, and of course, those LOL cow billboards off major highways like The I-95 or 405.
But recently, the successful chain has run into a bit of a PR pickle when Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy told a religious newspaper that his company's "guilty as charged" over accusations of being anti-gay marriage, reports ABC News.
“We are very much supportive of the family—the biblical definition of the family unit,” he said. “We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that…we know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles.”
Celebs like Jane Lynch, Lindsay Lohan, Deepak Chopra, Miley Cyrus, and the Kardashians are demanding Chick-fil-A customers everywhere boycott the chain. And it looks like Hangover actor Ed Helms is adding his name to the list.
“Chick-fil-A doesn’t like gay people? So lame. Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan,” Helms tweeted on Wednesday.

Second epic announcement, which reignited the Mommy War arena: Mayer is currently six months preggars. Although many working moms may applaud her for joining their ranks, they may not be able to relate in the dividends factor, considering her estimated net worth is $300 million. Hmm...do you think she'll hire a nanny?
