About 18 years after Williams Howard Taft passed away, his lookalike Kathy Bates was born. Kathy Bates is an award-winning actress, and William Howard Taft is best known for serving as President of the United States. While not playing an active role in politics, Bates’ slight connection to the Presidency can be traced back to her great-great-grandfather who served as President Andrew Jackson's doctor. Let’s see how else we can connect the dots:

Secretary
In 1904, President Theodore Roosevelt appointed William Howard Taft Secretary of War. Kathy Bates played the role of Dr. Regina Jackson, Secretary of Defense, in the film The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008).

Greek Life
Taft attended Yale College and became a member of the Beta chapter of the Psi Upsilon fraternity. Kathy attended Southern Methodist University, where she became a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Judging by this pic, could Bates be a long-lost member of the Taft family?
