Nicknamed "Jack the Dripper" for his technique of dripping paint over a canvas on the floor, Jackson Pollock is one of the most celebrated American artists in history. Born in 1912, Pollock had a reputation as an alcoholic, a recluse, and a pioneer of abstract expressionist art. Saturday marks the 100th anniversary of his birth.
