Today is Texas Independence Day. On this day in 1836, Texas broke from Mexico and formed the Republic of Texas. It wasn't until 10 years later that Texas was annexed by the United States, and Texans still celebrate their independence day each year. With its Southern geographic location, and its rich history of several cultures blending together, Texas has produced some of America's most famous individuals. Can you guess which of these statements about famous Texans are fact, and which are fiction?
