The unborn child of superstar parents Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z is already breaking records. A record 8,868 Tweets per second were sent Sunday night when Beyoncé revealed her baby bump to the world at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The "Single Ladies" singer/starlet posed on the red carpet and rubbed her tummy for the cameras— to the delight of legions of fans who have been waiting for such an announcement since Beyoncé married rap superstar Jay-Z in April 2008. The couple was named the second-highest-paid celebrity couple by Forbes magazine, after only supermodel Gisele and football player Tom Brady.
Beyoncé's baby announcement broke the Twitter records previously held by such events of global significance as Japan's victory over the U.S. in the women's World Cup, the British royal wedding, and Osama Bin Laden's death. With parents like these, we'd expect nothing less.
