Actress. Born November 3, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to becoming an actress, Capshaw worked as a teacher. Her early acting credits include a role on the soap opera Edge of Night.
In 1991, Capshaw married director Steven Spielberg, whom she met when she auditioned for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). Capshaw is best known for her work in this film, in which she starred as Willie Scott, a nightclub singer who teams up with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, an adventurous archeologist, to find a village's lost sacred stone.
Some of her other film roles include: Windy City (1984), SpaceCamp (1986), Black Rain (1989), How to Make an American Quilt (1995), and The Locusts (1997).
Capshaw has a daughter, Jessica, from a first marriage, and five children with Spielberg: Theo, Sasha, Sawyer, Mikaela, and Destry.
