Actress, singer. Born Alice Jeane Leppert on May 5, 1915 in New York City. The daughter of a police officer, Faye got her first taste of the stage as a chorus girl, eventually moving to Broadway, film and radio. In 1934, she received her first major film break starring in <em>Scandals</em>. Soon after, she was cast as the youthful mother in several Shirley Temple films, endearing her to a wide audience worldwide.
